Reply to Sulimo: Gandalf's Words
Bob Praz

The words that Gandalf spoke at Theodred's funeral were in Rohirric, and I looked it up at the Quintessential 'Lord of the Rings' website, which features the complete script of TTT and FOTR. It's a great tool, and fairly accurate as far as I know.

According to it, Gandalf says: "Westu hál. Ferðu, Théodred, Ferðu." which means: "Be thou well. Go thou, Théodred, go thou." (remember, rohirric, in relation to the Common Tongue, was was suppose to resemble old english).

By the way, the complete script also gives you all the elvish and rohirric lines in the movie, along with their translation. If you're interested, here's the site: www.quintessentialwebsites.com/lordoftherings/home/index.htm
